Dr Onyinye Okonkwo

Dr Onyinye (Onyi) Okonkwo is a Birmingham-based GP and Senior Partner at Wand Medical Centre, serving a diverse inner-city community. She is a Trustee of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), Honorary Secretary for the Midland Faculty, and Lead Examiner for the RCGP Simulated Consultation Assessment. Alongside her College roles, she is an Associate Non-Executive Director for Quality at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust and an Executive member of Birmingham LMC. Dr Okonkwo has spearheaded initiatives to support international medical graduates, developed EDI policy at national level, and led system-wide programmes tackling health inequalities. With over a decade of experience as a GP trainer and undergraduate tutor, she is passionate about education, inclusion, and strengthening general practice as the professional home for GPs.
