Professor Caroline Mitchell


Caroline is Professor of General Practice Research at Keele University, a GP, a Fellow of the RCGP and National Mentoring Lead for the Society of Academic Primary Care. Her research interests focus on critiquing and addressing equity bias in research and healthcare and in the co-design and evaluation of complex interventions for use in primary care. 

Her research is characterised by work with, and by, underserved primary care populations in the UK and in global health settings. She is a co-founder and Sheffield Academic GP member of the Deep End Research Alliance (DERA) Yorkshire and Humber (https://sites.google.com/sheffield.ac.uk/dera/home) and has supported several new Deep End networks in England and Wales to expand the DERA model of research prioritisation and co-production between patients/ communities, academics and primary care clinicians. She chairs the National Deep End research delivery network community of practice meetings.
