
Dr Tanvir Alam
Deputy Medical Director and GP Partner, East Lynne Medical Centre
Dr Tanvir Alam is a GP Partner, Non-Executive Director for the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group, and nationally elected Council Member of the RCGP. He serves as Chair of APNA NHS (Asian Professionals National Alliance) and Training Programme Director for Advancing Equity and Differential Attainment.
A former Deputy Medical Director for NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB, Dr Alam has extensive experience in clinical leadership, medical education, population health, quality improvement, governance, and service transformation. His career spans General Practice, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine, and Mental Health, bringing a broad perspective to healthcare delivery.
He is nationally recognised for advancing cultural safety, addressing health inequalities, and supporting healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds. Through more than 15 years of leadership in differential attainment, he has helped shape programmes promoting fairness, inclusion, and belonging. He is a trustee of One Vision Charity, championing community engagement, compassionate leadership, and equitable healthcare for all.
