Ein diben yw gwirio bod gwasanaethau gofal iechyd yn cael eu darparu mewn ffordd sy’n mwyafu iechyd a llesiant pobl. Rydym yn edrych ar ansawdd, diogelwch ac effeithiolrwydd y gwasanaethau cael eu darparu i bobl a chymunedau, gan dynnu sylw at arferion da lle rydym yn eu gweld a mynd afael ag arferion a allai achosi niwed rhai eu derbyn. Yr hyn sydd o bwys i bobl a chymunedau sydd wrth wraidd yr hyn yr ydym yn ei wneud. Ein nod yw darparu sicrwydd, hyrwyddo gwelliant, a dylanwadu ar bolisi a safonau.
HIW is the regulator of independent healthcare and the inspectorate of NHS healthcare in Wales. Our purpose is to check that healthcare services are provided in a way which maximises the health and wellbeing of people. We look at the quality, safety and effectiveness of the services being provided to people and communities, drawing attention to good practice where we find it and calling out practice that could cause harm to those who are receiving it. What matters to people and communities is core to what we do. We aim to provide assurance, promote improvement and influence policy and standards.
