Dr Tessa Lewis

GP

Tessa is a GP with an interest in therapeutics and frailty. She was a GP partner for 26yrs and since leaving has developed an extended role in frailty. She is passionate about the safe and effective use of medicines and a sustainable NHS. Her working week is split between clinical work and therapeutics. She co-leads the RCGP Prescribing and Medicines Optimisation Special Interest Group. Tessa Chairs the NICE Common Infections guidelines and as medical adviser, works with colleagues nationally, including the All Wales Therapeutics & Toxicology Centre, to support issues such as antimicrobial stewardship, polypharmacy and medicines optimisation.
