Dr Hareen De Silva BEM
Head of Mission - Gaza, CADUS e.V.
Hareen qualified as a GP in 2015 and worked in Doncaster. He then went onto work on expeditions travelling to Costa Rica and Dominica. His real passion came after studying for a Masters in Public Health at the University of Sheffield and started working on humanitarian aid missions. He has worked in Lesvos, Iraq and Syria as a clinician. He then was promoted to Medical Coordinator and managed a a 24 bed inpatient facility within Al-Hol refugee camp for 12 months in 2021. He then turned his attention to education and spent 4 months teaching battlefied trauma stabilisation to civilians in East Ukraine and being part of the medevac team as well. In March he became the Head of Mission for CADUS on their Palestine deployment, overseeing a trauma stabilisation point and the first international team to conduct medevacs in Palestine.
