Tista Chakravarty-Gannon

Head of Strategic Delivery and National Engagement, GMC

Tista has worked for over 25 years supporting survivors of abuse. She now also co-leads the Outreach team at the GMC and heads up their work to support doctors who qualified overseas. Besides her role at the GMC Tista is also Co Vice-Chair of APNA NHS.

She has previously worked on collaborative projects with the Gold Standards Framework and Barnardo’s; co-produced the minimum standards on IMG induction with NHSE, BMA and MPS; provided expert support to the National Guardian’s Office final speak up review and most recently worked with NHSE to support development of the Cultural Safety intervention, which she leads on for the GMC.

Tista has particular interests in anti-discrimination and supporting women in leadership. She was awarded the BAPIO’s President’s award for Professional Excellence in 2022 and the BIDA Special Award in 2024. She has recently authored chapters on Anti-Racist Medicine, a textbook published by Elsevier.
