Pseudomyxoma Survivor

Pseudomyxoma Survivor is a UK registered charity dedicated to supporting those affected by Pseudomyxoma peritonei, appendix cancer and other peritoneal surface malignancies. We also aim to raise awareness of this rare cancer and support research programmes.

Pseudomyxoma Survivor is a patient and caregiver run organisation offering practical and emotional advice on managing symptoms and all aspects of living with this rare disease. We run a private online community group for patients and caregivers to support each other, as this cancer does not behave like any other and it can be very confusing for patients.

The symptoms of the disease can be vague and slow to appear but can include appendicitis; a swelling of the tummy often referred to as a  ‘jelly belly’; an increase in waist size; a hernia; loss of appetite; abdominal pain; changes in bowel habits and ongoing gynaecological issues.

We are in attendance at the conference as many patients find it takes many years to receive a diagnosis, and we wish to raise awareness of the disease.
