Dr Tom France

Dr Tom France is a First5 Salaried GP working in Wigan, Greater Manchester. He is RCGP National GP Registrar Co-Chair, a representative on the RCGP North West England Faculty Board, and has recently been elected First5 Co-Chair from November 2026. As a newly qualified GP, Tom combines salaried clinical work at Marus Bridge Practice, where he is Clinical Lead for Palliative Care, with a PCN ARRS role focused on priorities

aligned with neighbourhood health. He has a particular interest in medical education and is an Associate Tutor at Edge Hill Medical School. Tom lives in Wigan with his wife, Rebecca, and their two young children. Their experience of baby loss has motivated them to improve awareness, understanding and education around miscarriage among colleagues working in primary care.
