Dr Ruth Norgain

Associate Postgraduate Dean, NHSE

Ruth is a GP with a portfolio career combining clinical practice, medical education, appraisal, coaching and mentoring. She currently works as a GP retainer, having previously been a GP partner and, for a short time, undertaking locum work.

Alongside her clinical work, Ruth is an Associate Dean and Training Programme Director for NHS England in the East Midlands, working with and supporting GPs throughout their training. She is also an NHS appraiser and a trained coach and mentor.

Ruth has a particular interest in compassionate leadership and in how we can better support one another in the workplace. She is passionate about helping colleagues feel valued, supported and able to develop, and brings this perspective from her experience across general practice, education and leadership.
