Dr Rebecca Foljambe

Dr Rebecca Foljambe is a GP Partner at Sleights & Sandsend Medical Practice in North Yorkshire. She holds an extra qualification in women’s health and co-designed a secondary school sexual health education programme that now sits with the Family Planning Association. She has also been concerned for a long time about the impact of social media on young people and has been individually campaigning since 2019. She founded Health Professionals for Safer Screens (HPFSS) in early 2024. This rapidly growing coalition of health professionals across all specialities works to raise awareness of the wide ranging impacts of social media and excessive screen use on childhood development. Becky and her colleagues at HPFSS have worked closely with parliamentarians, educationalists, police, children’s charities and bereaved parents to raise awareness of this serious threat to children’s health.
