Dr Lily Lamb

Lily is a salaried GP in Northumberland, an NIHR Doctoral Fellow at Newcastle University and she represents the North East of England on RCGP Council. She has taught undergraduate medical students for many years and her PhD research is in the area of supporting medical students towards careers in general practice. She has been involved in the Changing Face of Medicine Commission for 7 years, a ‘think tank’ which considers the doctor of the future, bringing together medics of all specialties and career stages. She is passionate about securing the future GP workforce, creating sustainable careers and supporting academic general practice. Clinically, her interests are in dementia, young people’s mental health and palliative and end of life care and she advocates for GPs to have the resources and capacity to provide high quality care in these areas.
