Dr Kyle Mathews

Kyle is a locum GP based on the west coast of Scotland.  Originally from Ireland, Kyle completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training in the centre of Edinburgh before embarking on a rural career.  Kyle has worked extensively throughout the Scottish Highlands and worked as the GP for 50 Scottish islands, giving him a unique insight into rural and island healthcare. 

Under the pseudonym ‘The Gp Nomad’ Kyle has regularly published articles documenting his rural working life, as well as kept a photo diary of his travels on Instagram. 

Outside of work, Kyle’s spare time is taken up as organiser of the World Stone Skimming Championships, held annually on Easdale Island, where he is now based.
