Dr Katie Hawkins. GP, The Edinburgh Access Practice, serving people who are experiencing homelessness or vulnerably housed. RCGP Scotland Climate and Sustainability Clinician Representative.

Katie has worked in Dep End General Practice for more than 10 years. She also took on the role as RCGP Scotland climate and sustainability clinician representative last year. She cares deeply about the impacts of the climate crisis on health, particularly on people experiencing socioeconomic deprivation. She is striving to find ways to both mitigate the impact of primary care on the climate as well as understanding how primary care can adapt for the future. She loves spending time in nature herself and sees green social prescribing as a small part of the solution.
