Dr Kamilla Kamaruddin

Dr Kamaruddin is a GP and Clinical Lead at the East of England Gender Service in Cambridge, UK. Working as a GP in trans healthcare, their practice spans direct patient care — including gender-affirming hormone therapy prescribing and monitoring — alongside clinical leadership, service evaluation, policy development, and academic writing.

Dr Kamaruddin's work is grounded in the structural determinants of health lens, shaped significantly by Sir Michael Marmot's framing of health inequalities, and applied consistently across clinical practice, quality improvement, and advocacy. Their interests include transgender healthcare, intersectionality, marginalised communities, autism in adults, and LGBT and human rights.

Beyond clinical work, Dr Kamaruddin contributes to service-wide evaluation and policy, speaks at webinars and conferences across the UK and internationally, and teaches GPs and GP trainees (GPVTS) on trans healthcare and autism.
