
Dr Aaron Poppleton
GP and NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer
Dr Aaron Poppleton is a general practitioner, educational trainer and GP academic in North West England, with research interests in point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS), health inequalities and migrant mental health. He chaired the development of the WONCA Europe position statement on PoCUS and has authored articles on its use in UK general practice in BJGP, BJGP Open and InnovAiT. He is part of the RCGP Ultrasound Special Interest Group leadership team and an active member of the WONCA Europe PoCUS group. Aaron is Honorary Secretary of WONCA Europe, an organisation representing national GP colleges and over 90,000 clinicians across Europe. He has also co-led national and European GP special interest groups in medical education, leadership and primary care ultrasound. His Wellcome Trust-funded PhD explored how UK primary care could be culturally adapted for patients from Central and Eastern Europe, including their perspectives on diagnosis. https://www.keele.ac.uk/globalhealth/research/clarence/
