Barclays Medical Practice
Barclay Medical Practice is a large NHS general practice partnership providing primary care services across 15 local practice sites throughout Glasgow, West Lothian and Edinburgh. Founded in Maryhill, Glasgow in 2014, the organisation has grown while maintaining a model that is clinically led, locally rooted and focused on delivering high-quality, accessible patient care. The partnership combines the benefits of local general practice with the resilience and infrastructure of operating at scale. Centralised operational services, including prescribing, document processing, registrations, finance, IT and HR, reduce duplication and administrative burden, enabling local clinical teams to focus on patient care. A key priority is patient access and choice. Patients can access services through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations, supported by modern telephony and Barclay’s own digital front-door system. The organisation continually reviews patient feedback, workflows and service delivery to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. Barclay Medical Practice is committed to developing sustainable NHS primary care through collaboration, technology, continuous improvement and investment in its people, while ensuring that patient experience remains at the centre of decision-making.
