Accessibility at the RCGP Annual Conference and Exhibition
Accessibility at the RCGP Annual Conference and Exhibition
We are committed to ensuring our conference is a welcoming and inclusive space for every member of our professional family. By removing barriers to participation, we help all attendees flourish and engage fully with the programme at the SEC Glasgow.
Our onsite facilities:
Prayer and reflection
A dedicated multi-faith prayer room is available for all attendees. This quiet, private space is designed to respect the diverse needs of our community, offering a peaceful environment for prayer, worship, or quiet contemplation throughout the two days.
Families, parents and childcare
To support parents and guardians, we provide a range of facilities to make your experience more comfortable:
- Dedicated parent room:
A comfortable space including baby care amenities (changing mats, small fridge, and bottle warmer) and soft play facilities for infants and children under two, with access to live-streamed conference sessions, helping you stay connected to the programme while caring for your child. - Crèche:
We’re pleased to introduce a pilot crèche service delivered by Indigo Childcare Group at this year’s conference. The crèche will be available during the main conference programme hours and will not cover evening or social events.
The crèche is for children aged two to four years at the time of conference.
Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
The fee is £48 per child, per day (inclusive of £40 plus VAT).
Reserve a place here.
Once the form has been submitted, your child’s place will be held until we send you the payment details. To confirm your place, you will need to complete payment through the payment portal and have purchased a conference ticket.
Wellbeing and sensory support
We recognise the importance of providing spaces to recharge and decompress:
- Wellbeing area: A dedicated zone focused on your mental and physical health during the event.
- Quiet / Sensory room: A low-stimulation environment for attendees who need a break from the busy conference atmosphere to refocus and relax. The opening hours of this room are:
- Thursday 29 October: 08:50 – 16:50
- Friday 30 October: 08:45 – 16:45
Onsite assistance and navigation
Our team is here to help you navigate the event with confidence:
- Identifiable staff: Our event staff wear easily recognisable blue t-shirts and are available to help with any queries or support needs.
- Clear signage: We use large, high-contrast signage throughout the SEC Glasgow to ensure session rooms, registration, and the exhibition are easy to find.
Flexible and inclusive participation
We strive to make our content accessible to the widest possible audience:
- Accessibility requests: Our registration form includes a section for specific requirements, such as mobility assistance or assistive listening devices.
- On-demand content: To support those who cannot attend in person, we offer a selection of conference sessions online post-event.
