Lucy Pollock

Lucy is grateful for the advice of an early boss who hoped she would not be offended if he suggested she should specialise in geriatric medicine. She trained at Cambridge and Barts, followed by training posts in a series of London hospitals before moving to Somerset where she has been a consultant geriatrician since 2001. She was a member of the NICE hypertension panel in 2017 and is co-author of a 2024 BMJ analysis of the treatment of heart failure in people with frailty. Lucy's written two books published by Penguin, the Book About Getting Older ((2021) and the Golden Rule (2024) using stories to empower and inform older people, their families and those who care for them - and any of us who may at some point become old.
