
Dr Veline L’Esperance

Dr Veline L’Esperance is an academic GP at Queen Mary University London where she is the primary care lead for Health Legacy, a Wellcome Trust funded precision medicine study to understand and develop better blood tests to diagnose type 2 diabetes. She practices in south east London. She serves as a senior clinical advisor to the NHS Race and Health Observatory in the area of genomics and precision medicine. She is also a member of the NICE Technology Appraisal Committee, National Genomics Board and the NHS Genomics Ethics, Equity and Legal Advisory Group. Veline was a National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow, before obtaining an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship and NIHR Doctoral fellowship. Her research interests include health economics, genomics and health inequalities.
