Dr Catherine Fernando


Dr Catherine Fernando graduated from Aberdeen Medical School in 2001. She completed MRCP before choosing a career in General Practice. Catherine is now a mum of 4 and has been a GP for 17 years. She loves her role as a salaried GP in East Lothian where she specialises in dermatology. 

Catherine was awarded a distinction for the Cardiff Diploma in Practical Dermatology in 2022 and is passionate about improving dermatology education in primary care. She is also a great advocate of dermoscopy for primary healthcare clinicians. She is a regular speaker on topics in Dermatology at national level and a tutor for the South East Scotland GPST Training program. She continues to write regular "Top Tips" and "Primary Care Hacks" on the management of skin conditions for international educational publications.
