Dr Nicholas Thomas

Dr Nicholas Thomas is a principal GP at the Windrush Medical Practice in Witney, West Oxfordshire and is the Clinical lead for Research in the Royal College of General Practitioners.  The Windrush Medical Practice has become one of the highest recruiting practices in the region. In the last 6 years it has developed a clinical research unit made up of a team of 15 people. 

He became the Primary Care Clinical Research Specialty Lead within the NIHR TVSM 10 years ago supporting the fantastic expansion of primary care within the network with more practices doing research than ever before.  In May 2023 he became the Clinical Director of NIHR TVSM (the first GP to hold that position) aiming to strengthen inter organisation relationships across the network. This role evolved into the Health and Care Co-Director role in the NIHR SC RRDN in October 2024.
