Dr David Shackles
Joint Chair of Scotland Council
Dr David Shackles has been the Joint Chair of RCGP Scotland along with Dr Chris Williams since 2019.
He is a practising GP in Perth, where he worked for over30 years as a GP partner and now in a locum and sessional role. David was involved in GP training and education as a trainer and as an Associate Advisor with NHS Education for Scotland, helping to design and develop educational courses and resources.
David has a long involvement with RCGP, being an active member of East Scotland Faculty, representing them at UK Council as well having served as the College’s Executive Officer for Interface and Out of Hours
He also works closely with the RCGP Scotland projects team and the national Centre for Sustainable Delivery exploring interface working and patient pathways. David also represents RCGP Scotland on the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland.
