Dr Emma Tonner

National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow , National Institute for Health and Care

Emma Tonner is an FMLM National Medical Director's Clinical Leadership Fellow based at the National Institute for Health and Care Research Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRNCC). Emma is leading a project embedding research into primary care, amongst other key engagement and stakeholder work. Emma has extensive and increasing experience in healthcare leadership, systems and policy. In addition to the fellowship, this expertise has developed through several significant leadership roles including alongside her Academic Foundation programme as RCGP lead for Medical Students and Foundation Doctors and advocating for her peers as a regional executive BMA, LNC and Doctors in Training representative and through award-winning wellbeing and digital champion roles. This is supported by an intercalated degree in healthcare management and PGCert in Quality and Patient Safety Improvement. She shares this passion as a healthcare leadership educator and postgraduate lecturer. Emma continues to develop her academic clinical career and portfolio.
