Dr Rachel Pryke
Rachel is a part-time GP and trainer in Bewdley, Worcestershire. She was RCGP Clinical Champion for Nutrition until 2015 and and held a NICE Fellowship from 2015-18. She ran a RCGP Spotlight project on Multimorbidity. She established the RCGP Nutrition Group, now renamed GPING – GPs with an Interest in Nutrtion Group in 2013.
She has written extensively including many e-learning modules, journal articles and two books – “Weight Matters for Children” and “Weight Matters for Young People”, Radcliffe Publishing 2006.
Rachel runs primary care obesity training courses throughout the UK and has collaborated with WHO on a European primary care obesity training package, delivered across several countries. https://primarycareobesitytraining.wordpress.com/
She is a member of the Lancet Standing Commission on Liver Disease in UK and was member of the NICE NAFLD guideline development group and Quality Standard group.
She has sat on the National Child Measuring Programme Board, PHE Obesity Priority Programme Board and sits on World Obesity’s Clinical Care Committee.
