Dr Mair Hopkin
Mair grew up in Tonyrefail, South Wales and graduated from the Welsh National School of Medicine in 1980. She was a GP in Old School Surgery Pontyclun from 1986 to 2019. She developed an interest in women’s health and child development. She was joint author of Child Health Surveillance in Wales. Her interest in education led to her becoming Programme Director and then Associate Dean for Postgraduate GP education in Health Education and Improvement Wales. Since gaining MRCGP and latterly FRCGP she has been involved in the South East Wales Faculty as Secretary, Chair, Provost and UK Council Representative. She is currently Joint Chair of RCGP Wales . Mair has an interest in gardening, all things wool from fleece to finished product and caring for her grandchildren.
