National Association for Patient Participation
The National Association for Patient Participation, this year celebrates 40 years as sole UK organisation for patient-led groups within General Practice. It promotes and supports patient participation groups (PPGs) to work in partnership with practices to improve quality of care and patient experience. The GP contract requires English practices to have a PPG. The scope and potential of PPGs includes providing patient perspective, improving communication between practice and patients and encouraging research. N.A.P.P. works with RCGP, NHS England, GMC, CQC, policy makers and other patient organisations to ensure that patients can participate individually and collectively in the planning and implementation of their health care.
