AiT Conference Information

Everything AiTs need to know about attending the RCGP Annual Conference.

Ever felt if it’s worth as a trainee, attending the RCGP Annual Conference?

  • Learn about new updates to guidelines via dedicated CPD sessions that will help towards your exam preparation.
  • Be part of controversial debates throughout the conference and use your learning to tick off those hard to reach ePortfolio competencies.
  • Spend your evenings at the AiT social events – meet fellow trainees from across the UK and aboard, network and share experiences from your own training.

My own personal tips

  • Register early to grab those earlybird discounts.
  • Get in touch with your local faculty – they may offer a discounted rate towards your registration or offer bursary opportunities.
  • Utilise your study budgets to help further support your attendance.
  • Look out for dedicated AiT/First5 events we’re putting on throughout the conference.

I’d love to see you in Liverpool.

Chair, RCGP AiT Committee

Registration offers

AiTs can make a huge saving of £452 when registering for the full conference.*

*Saving is calculated against the cost of a non-member, full conference ticket. AiT full conference tickets cost 46% less than a full member ticket.

Programme highlights

This year’s conference programme has a dedicated stream for AiT delegates with sessions including:

  •  Making my appraisal something I look forward to (because of its value to me and my patients)
This practical session will offer simple tips and tricks to make demonstrating your continued competence proportionate and easy. We will share evidence from people who have made their own appraisals work for them, with a particular focus on learning and developing methods that work for you.

  •  How to get your idea heard
Have you had a great idea but then struggled to take it further? Is there something you want to change in your practice, but people aren’t on board? In this session you will be introduced to the ‘art of persuasion’ – Aristotle’s proofs – and learn how to use millenia -old principles to ensure that your communication has the impact you need.

  •  How to make an irresistible peer group!
This interactive session uses insights from education theory and social media to help you create effective peer events. Be prepared to have a go at chairing a session, promoting an event, and eliciting feedback. There will also be an opportunity for questions and problem-solving based on issues you’ve faced.
