How you can help us

  • Delegate bag packing
  • Direct Delegates
  • Assist with registration
  • Scan delegates into sessions & usher during the plenary
  • Assist with the Poster Programme
  • Act as an ambassador for the event with your student community
  • Capture activity at the conference & post on social media

What should I expect?

The conference runs from Thursday 4 October to Saturday 6 October, with a set up day on Wednesday 3 October. If you join us as a volunteer we will send you a brief pack of information about the event and the role(s) you will undertake.

We are looking for volunteers who can come down on the evening of Wednesday 3 October to help put the final touches to setting up the event. During this time we will be getting stuck in to delegate bag packing, displaying posters, putting out signage and getting training on the registration process.

Then when the event begins you’ll be working in one of two teams of volunteers. Each team volunteers for half a day on Thursday & Friday. The rest of the time is your own. We’ll do our best to mix up your job roles so that you can access as much of the conference content as possible.

We are also seeking a small number of volunteers to help out on Saturday 6 October inside the session rooms.

Each volunteer period lasts for 6 hours, starting at 7am or 12.30pm. Your volunteer period starts with a briefing where you’ll be reminded of your role for that session and given any updated information about the event.

It’s not all work and no play. We hope you’ll have fun snapping shots around conference and posting them on social media, spend time speaking to your future peers & with exhibitors, and join us for a drinks reception in the Exhibition Hall on Thursday evening.

What next?

Once you have applied we will send you further information late September including:

  • Confirmation of your volunteering spot & proposed volunteer periods. A reminder of the roles you’ll undertake. How to arrangement your attendance & send us your profile
  • All the latest news from conference, focus on the new features
  • Your pre-show brief and the latest news
  • Your official volunteer work outline & a reminder of who you’re working with

You’ll be given a code to register for free and links to our cheapest accommodation (if required)

We’ll be adding you to the website on our ‘Meet the Volunteers’ page so we can celebrate how great you are!
