Clinical Champion for the RCGP’s clinical priority ‘Physical Activity and Lifestyle’
Dr Zoe Williams is joint Clinical Champion for the RCGP’s clinical priority ‘Physical Activity and Lifestyle’. A GP in south London, she is passionate about increasing the knowledge of patients and colleagues on the benefits of physical activity and lifestyle, for both disease prevention and treatment. She also has a Clinical Champion (physical activity) role with Public Health England and has been involved in developing training materials for doctors and building, training and mentoring, a team of 15 GP clinical champions to deliver this training across England. She is a clinical associate, leading on obesity, in her local CCG. Zoe is the founder and director of Fit4Life, an organisation that delivers educational workshops to schoolchildren to ‘Inspire, Educate and Motivate’ them to lead healthier lives. She also works internationally with MEND to train and support communities to deliver family weight managements programmes, in the USA and Canada. Zoe enjoys being active herself and during her junior doctor years she featured as ‘Amazon’ in the TV show Gladiators. She has now hung up the Lycra, but continues to work in media and broadcast, recently featuring on This Morning, Horizon and Trust Me, I’m A Doctor.
