Dr Duncan Shrewsbury is an Academic GP Registrar in Worcestershire, and Chair of the RCGP AiT committee. He has a background in teaching, and he is now completing a PhD in medical education, focusing on dyslexia in doctors. Duncan started using mindfulness about nine years ago, and has since undertaken training in a variety of different modalities. He initially started teaching mindfulness whilst at medical school, aimed at addressing medical student wellbeing, but has since integrated the topic in training and workshops around coaching and mentoring, more recently working with the London and West Midlands LETBs. He continues to practice and teach mindfulness, and also draws on his experience, and the resources he has developed for teaching with his patients. This all ties in with Duncan’s holistic interests in support and wellbeing. This year he has worked on a campaign called #GP5aDay that aims to promote wellbeing.
